JC Hotel: ruins
On route from Windorah to Birdsville we stopped by the JC Hotel. It’s now 50 years since it was abandoned, and nothing much is left.

Betoota: population 0
Closer to Birdsville lies the ghost town of Betoota. Nobody lives here these days. The abandoned hotel is the last remnant of what was a small outback outpost.
The strong sunlight glares back at you from the sand and rocks. This is winter - I imagine that summers can be a tad hot.
