Hyacinth orchid

There haven’t been as many Dipodium sp. (a species of myco-heterotrophic orchids) around this year as compared to previous years. Given that we’ve all but reached the end of January, I was surprised to find this healthy specimen not too far from the house.

This one is, most likely, D. punctatum, the Hyacinth Orchid.

Hanging epiphyte

Many epiphytes grow in a convenient “Y” fork in a tree. This one’s securely fastened under a branch.
