While sitting on logs, drinking water, and recovering from the ascent from Salisbury Waters, this native paid us a visit. The colourful creature just wouldn’t stay still enough for a decent portrait though, too many ant’ics, hence the blur.

We’ve had our share of Australian fauna come to visit around the house over the years, but this was the first quoll I’ve seen. I went to collect the dogs from their large yard for the morning walk, when I found them paying close attention to this visitor – it was sitting atop a branch in a tree inside the dog yard.
After duly photographing the quoll, which I presume to be a tiger quoll, we went for a walk. It had gone by the time we returned.
