Old Riverside stockyard

Here’s what seems to be the last remaining post from one incarnation of the old stockyards at Riverside, east of Walcha, now part of Oxley Wild Rivers National Park.

Part of the research that Bob’s currently undertaking involves looking at the old yards that can be found in the gorge system. The earliest recorded set of yards here dates from the 1840′s. This post, Bob believes, most likely dates from around 1870.
