
I have previously been told what this is (we saw a similar specimen in rain forest some time ago), but I’ve since forgotten. This specimen was located not far from the “Macaroni cheese” fungus in yesterday’s photograph which was taken not far from the house on our property after rain. I’ll ask a commenter to hep identify it. Ken?

One of the Cortinarius sp, probably Cortinarius archeri. Lovely when they are moist like this one.
