Outback 2009: Coober Pedy

We headed west from Oodnadatta to Marla on the Stuart Highway, then south to Coober Pedy.

Coober Pedy provides a stop-over for travellers, and is a centre for opal mining. Many homes are built into hillsides or underground due to the harsh summer temperatures.
