Outback 2009: Warri Gate

We’re now heading out of New South Wales and into Queensland. The state border is marked with a fence and gate, the Warri Gate. It’s a do-it-yourself job, opening and shutting the gate as you pass through. The gate doesn’t really have anything to do with border control, but rather to provide passage through the thousands-of-kilometres long dingo fence.

    I hope that it is more effective than the rabbit proof fence!

    It is a problem for the other animals though that would have passed through looking for grazing or water surely.
