
JudithK, in a comment, asked about the purple flowers that featured in the left-hand-side of a photograph a couple of days ago. I hadn’t published a photograph of the flowers as I didn’t think the photograph was good enough. To answer Judith, though, here it is in detail. I’ve no idea what name this plant has – we just called it “Purple Top”.
It’s probably a weed (perhaps South American in origin), and possibly a Verbena sp.
