I’d not seen one before so I had to be told that this was a pig trap. It’s not currently in use hence the door on the left hand side being propped open. I’m sure people would rather than pigs didn’t exist in National Parks but it’s a fact of life that they’re there, at least in small numbers (probably).

When in use they have to be checked regularly, I think daily, so the trapped pigs can be killed and the other animals released. Most parks have so many pigs that unless they make a large effort it is pointless.
