
This traipsing along the side of creeks is all very well but we’ve had to drop down off the tablelands to get there. This means that we then have to slog back up the side of the gorge to get home. The slopes aren’t usually worse than 40 degrees though
This image of the Macleay snaking along the valley was taken from a the side of such a slope. On this particular day, from memory, I think we ascended 900 metres (3000 feet) in total.
