
National Parks staff carried out some controlled burns to reduce the amount of fuel available for bush fires that might otherwise appear during the coming summer fire season. This is the view looking across the Chandler Gorge from Long Point.
As circumstance would have it, a hamstring injury of mine caused us to decide to walk where we did on a gentler slope rather than where we had planned to walk – across on the other side of the gorge exactly where the burn had taken place.
