A staghorn (a.k.a. elkhorn) is an ephyphitic fern. This one’s in Washpool National Park, 75 km east of Glen Innes.

Termites inside
A tree had fallen across our path and split open. It’s a wonderful blend of live and fresh on the outside, and dead and termite-eaten on the inside.
