Austerity

Looking down on it from a hilltop, this old farmhouse west of Guyra reflects the potential for hard living in years gone by as it sits in austere surroundings. Perhaps, though, when the house was full of life there were some comforts to be had, warmth, a garden, an orchard.

The welcome rains of late, as evidenced by the green “glare”, have helped to take this area back out of drought conditions, at least for the moment.
