Did I mention that all the tracks out of Innamincka were closed? Can you imagine trying to drive hundreds of kilometres on ground that does this after only a few tens of metres? Not to mention the numerous creek crossings some of which had water flowing metres above ground level.
It was an easy way, though, to grow taller. The further you walk, the taller you get.
