Former Australian Inland Mission building, Innamincka

Originally built and used as the Australian Inland Mission’s Elizabeth Symon Nursing Home in Innamincka, this building fell into disrepair and was rebuilt in 1994. It is now home to the Park Headquarters for the Innamincka Regional Reserve. The building is seen here with a prominent post-storm puddle.

[This 46 page pamphlet (PDF, 1.6 Mbytes) provides a fascinating insight to the background and operation of the Elizabeth Symon Nursing Home from 1928 to 1951, and information about the surrounding area and its people.
