Walcha Road railway station

Walcha Road railway station

Once a busy railway depot, the station at Walcha Road (population 20) now sees only a few of the passengers travelling on the Main North Line. Walcha Road serves as the railhead for the town of Walcha, and surrounds.

Railway lines used to run at both sides of the station and banker engines were once based here to assist trains on gradients in the vicinity.
