This Ironbark Orchid (or White Feather Orchid) (Dendrobium aemulum) was found growing on the bark on the side of a tree in the Mann River Nature Reserve east of Glen Innes. The specimen in this photograph is about 5 cm (2 inches) in height. It’s sharing the tree bark with quite a bit of lichen.

Urbanites are said to be seeking a seachange when they desire to move from the bustle of city life to what they perceive as being a quieter or easier life on the coast. A similar term, treechange, has been more recently applied to those who seek that quieter life in rural areas.
