
I photographed this swarm, if that’s what it is, just as the light was fading. There were three such “swarmsâ€? at eye level on the tree beside the house dam – two swarms were about the size of a tennis ball, the third was about half that size. At first I thought they were native bees because of their size; then I read that native bees don’t swarm. So what are they? Wasps? Hornets?
