Fence frost

Frost on fencepost

I experienced a wide range of temperatures today. I took the dogs out at sunrise when it was -9 degC (15 degF). I then went bush-walking with friends and, while ascending a ridge under the winter sun, felt like swapping my long trousers for shorts in the balmy 15 or so degC (60 degF).

Today’s photograph shows the thin stripe of hoar frost atop a fence post catching the newly risen sun.
