I’m not so happy with this photograph. The original concept was to have an image balanced with the red/brown leaves at the top and the red roof tiles at the bottom, with foliage around all four sides to frame the central parts.

I focused on the leaves at the top to highight the autumn colours but I don’t think it’s obvious enough that that was the intention. The result, to me, is that the rest of the photo just looks strangely out of focus.

This photograph illustrates the contrasting weather of the day. It was bright and sunny and hot - then dark with the threat of heavy rain. The rain never really came to anything (there were several occasions when it was heavy for all of 10 seconds at a time), but I was impressed how dark it got - dark enough at times to think about turning a light on inside the house.
