
In all likelihood, this land was originally heavily timbered. Cleared for grazing purposes, it has a higher risk of being damaged by erosion, or, at best, losing topsoil when drier and dustier than is shown here. Compared to many parts of Australia at the moment, this part of the country has done well after summer rainfall. It’s quite lush (for Australia).
