The garden seems full of Superb Blue Fairy-Wrens at this time of year. It’s only the males, though, that are so colourful. They flit around, in and out of the shurubs and trees, in family groups of 6 to 8 individuals.

We used to have a family group in our yard and are trying to establish the right conditions again – will they come back???? not seen any in the area – suburb for a couple of years.

I have a family of five in my garden it used to come up to me at my window everyday and just sit there as if it were saying hello
They are now a simble for my nan and i as we love them soo much

I’ve only seen them when i lived in south australia. But just 10 minutes ago i saw a beautiful breeding blue male in my yard. Gorgeous creatures.

No, the Superb Blue Fairy Wren can be found in most of the south-eastern corner of Australia – from southern Queensland, to Victoria, to South Australia.
