Fly resting

Walking back to the house from the dog run, I noticed this fly sitting motionless in a shrub. It posed quite happily for me for a few minutes, then buzzed off. I’ve no idea what it is. I’d estimate this image to be about 5x lifesize.

Once again, the macro capability of the little Nikon Coolpix 3700 compact camera impresses me.
