Lums

Lang may yer lum reek! … as they say in Scotland. (A “lum” is a chimney – see Scots dictionary).

Todays’ theme, self-tasked, was to check out the chimneys on the older buildings in the Armidale CBD. Many of these buildings are from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

From the rear of a building in the CBD – 3. Of note here is that we’re looking at the rear of the facia of the building. From the front this facia gives the building a false sense of height.
