It’s that time of year again. August and September – the end of winter, the beginning of Spring. It’ll be extremely windy for two or three days, then we have a few days rest, then that cycle repeats itself.
Here we see a tree trunk with the bark stripped of like a banana skin pealed back – this is normal for this type of gum tree. The ground is covered with such strips of bark. It all adds up to a high fuel load should summer be long and hot and dry – and then the risk of bushfire is extreme.
