
It’s that time of year again. August and September – the end of winter, the beginning of Spring. It’ll be extremely windy for two or three days, then we have a few days rest, then that cycle repeats itself.
Here we see a tree trunk with the bark stripped of like a banana skin pealed back – this is normal for this type of gum tree. The ground is covered with such strips of bark. It all adds up to a high fuel load should summer be long and hot and dry – and then the risk of bushfire is extreme.
Not making life easy for myself this shot is taken into the light which distracts the eye for the bark. But you get the idea …
