Theme Thursday: Wings

Theme Thursday: Wings

When I first caught a glimpe of these leaves, I thought they were seed wings. As a boy I used to pick seeds from sycamore trees, hurl them in the air, then watch the seed’s wings fall to the ground, rotating like helicopter rotor blades.

These “wings” aren’t quite airworthy – althought they almost rotated while falling.

I have a maple tree in my front yard, and it has those helicopter-like seeds. I didn’t know that sycamores had them, too. This is a great, creative shot for the theme. :)
