Bird of prey

Bird of prey

Today’s challenge was to produce an image taken in less than perfect circumstances. On my way back from town, and not far from home, I spotted a couple of birds circling and soaring in thermal updrafts. Two birds of prey. I only had a 105mm (in 35mm terms) lens with me. What you see here is a 100% crop of the original image. The lack of crispness is made up, I feel, by the record I now have of (what I think is) a wedgetail eagle flying above me.

[Wedgetail eagles are about 1m/3ft in length and have a wingspan of about 2.3m/7.5ft].
