From Point Lookout (1565m / 5200ft asl) looking east. We could see the Pacific Ocean through the haze even thought it’s some tens of kilometres away. It must have been a long trip overland before roads were built – there’s a large number of dense ranges to push through.
We were lucky with the weather – it was a beautiful morning – the view could so easily have been masked by mist at this time of year.
